Nutrition - My Food

Hello,

I would like to request an improvement to the "My Food" feature. Currently, it allows users to create a custom meal from ingredients. The issue is that I cannot add only a portion of a custom meal to my meal plan.

For example, I cook a meal that weighs 500g in total, but I don’t eat the entire portion at once. I would like to be able to add, for instance, 0.5 of a portion or a specific amount instead.

  • If you do not want to wait (years) till Garmin does the change, you could create a "meal" of some basic weight unit, like for example 100g, 50g, or even 10g, and then add the appropriate number of units. Otherwise, I recommend suggesting it to Garmin at Share Ideas | Garmin 

  • I get around this by adding the whole meal (like a batch cooked Bolognese) to My Meals using the weights of all my ingredients.   This gives me the total macros for the whole pan.  I then weigh out my portions and count how many I get.  I then use AI to work out the macros for each individual portion (add a screen shot of the batch cooked values and ask for the macros to be broken down into X portions).  I then add a new entry called Individual *name of dish* and add this to my daily nutrition. I then have a recipe for future batch cooks so can just replicate what I already have stored.  I've done this for about 6 different batch cooked dishes now.
