Garmin Connect+ Worth it?

I tested Connect+ twice to validate if the subscription has any value for my usage profile. I tested when it was released in 2025, and again tested this year to see if there was any improvements.

I actively track all my run, weight training, dives, and outdoor activities, so I expecting Connect+ would use all that richness of data to give insights on how to improve my training, or in the case of tracking nutrition, how to achieve my muscle mass and fat mass goals, and how to improve my strength training.

Instead of that, what I got was just a bunch of metric summarizations from my activities, something that I can read from the app without the ¨AI¨ feature. The other stuff they added to the subscription has little to no value.

The interesting thing is, if you add all this each dataset of activities in Google Gemini and make a few prompts in terms of goals, you get a lot of feedback on how to adjust your workouts, what to eat before or after your workout combination in your calendar (run + strength training as an example), even got insights that the measurement of my body fat must be incorrect because of my workout load, or the data of load per set I was in the day I scanned. All very usefull insights from a generic AI model.

Examples I got from Gemini:

1) Went for my run, followed by my strength workout as planned in my calendar

2) Did a scan of weight, muscle mass, body fat.

Prompted Gemini why my results were not great (on an existing context with my workout programs, loads, nutrition behavior pre/post workout).

Gemini told me the scan results were inaccurate because I was dehydrated from the run + workout, and since I didn´t eat breakfast before the exercise, I didn´t have enough glycogen and its water content for an accurate measurement. It also told me the muscle mass loss was incompatible with my workout PR on load on the same day; followed by recommendations on what to eat as pre/post workout for the rest of the week, how much load to add to my future sets, and which days to combine run + workout, and when to do another scan.

All very rich insights, without telling me ¨You ran 8km today¨ Disappointed

I was so excited about this feature. I hope Garmin can make sense of it and delivery value, just base on all the data they already get from us and our activities.
