Toggle switches glitching and app freezing in Garmin Connect (Android)

I am having an issue with the Garmin Connect app on Android. While navigating through settings, I encounter a serious glitch in areas where toggle switches are present. When I go deeper into specific settings and then navigate back, the toggle switches start switching on and off by themselves.

At this point, the app stops responding to any touches. To make it work again, I either have to force close the app in Android settings or lock and unlock my phone, which usually (but not always) fixes it temporarily. This happens in every menu that contains such switches. I have already tried clearing the app cache and data. I also removed my watch and even reinstalled the app entirely, but none of these steps resolved the issue.

    So we can look into this, can you please confirm what version of Connect you're on and walk us through what is being done so we can try to recreate it?

  • It doesn't do that anymore. Previously, for example, when I went to: Settings -> System -> Do Not Disturb -> Watch Face (even without changing any settings), and then navigated back to Settings -> System -> Do Not Disturb, the toggles would switch by themselves. This happened practically everywhere where there were toggles after returning from a submenu.

    I’ve checked it now and that’s no longer happening. Currently, when I go to: Settings -> System -> Do Not Disturb -> Watch Face and press back, it takes me all the way back to Settings -> System. The plus side is that the toggles aren't glitching anymore, but the downside is having to enter the submenu all over again.

    Current Garmin Connect version: 5.23.1 Previous version: I don’t know what the version number was, because I had to wait a month for any response from you.

  • Thank you for your patience while we got to your forum post. Just to confirm, are you still experiencing the original reported concern or has it been resolved with the current Connect app version? 

  • I am having similar issues with not being able to toggle options on in the Garmin connect app for my Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2 smart watch but allows me to toggle options off. Thanks. 

  • I have a vivosmart 5. The garmin connect app is bugged. Every toggle switch that is turned off, can't be turned on, the running man appears for a second, but the switch stays off. If the switch is on, I can turn it off, and then can't turn it back on.

  • I have the same issue with my Index sleep. can toggle alarm of but never on nor enable smart alarm. Using Connect app 5.26

  • Hi everybody,

    I am encountering a problem to activate any parameter on Garmin Connect app.

    For example on this video, I selected a training application ( pool swimming ) and tried to turn on some parameters but it does not do anything. Turning off parameters is working fine.

    To activate parameters again, i done it directly using the watch.

    All parameters are affected. I tried for example to activate system/software auto-update with the same result.

    Note that switching off ( that working ) is correctly synchronized on watch. 

    Does everyone have the same problem ?

    I can confirm that it is broken (using Instinct 3 too). I reported it to Garmin, and invite you doing so too.
