Beep every x seconds

Hello,

Is there a way to have a beep every x seconds during a planned running training ?

I use my Fenix 7 on track sessions and when I have a long interval training, having a beep at specific intervals would help me stay at the right pace.

For instance, if the coachs asks me to run a 1000m at 3'20"/km, then I would love to have a beep every 20s which would be every 100m on the track. I could therefore easily verify I'm running at the right pace without having to look at my watch.

If that doesn't exist, maybe an improvement to consider ?

Thanks,

Jean-François

  • If you do not want to look at your watch, I suggest either using audio prompts, announcing you the current pace for example each 30s, or just use the built-in pace alerts. From the documentation at Not Receiving Custom Alerts During Workouts

If you are performing a workout on your device that includes an intensity target, such as a pace or heart rate range, your device will alert you when you are outside of that intensity target and when you enter or re-enter that target range.

  • Hi,

I tried that already but on a track the pace is not very precise.

    Thanks,

  • Strange, mine is pretty accurate. Did you calibrate the track?

If calibration does not help, then you could rewrite the workout yourself, splitting the workout step into multiple shorter time interval repeats with the same pace target. You then get an alert at each new repeat.

On newer watch models you could also set up a longer timer (longer than your workout), add Interval Alert of 20s (or whatever you need), and start it in the background. However, I believe Fenix 7 does not have the Interval Alerts option available in Timers.

Another alternative might be wearing a second cheap watch with a timer set to the 20s.
