How to mirror an ongoing activity from Fenix watch to Connect app?

Hi All.

I have joined a gym for spinning class, but the bikes, although new, are cheap, and don't have screen, so no HR, km, cal, cadence, etc. Nothing.

I used my Fenix7 watch, to log a "indoor bike" activity, no problem.

However, what I want is to see in real-time the same activity in the Connect App, particularly for the HR info and feedback.

Also, I'd like to do an FTP Cycling using this setup, if possible at all.

Is this possible? I tried but couldn't find any option to "mirror" the activity from the watco to the app.

Thanks a lot,

  • "Live Activity" is a feature of Garmin Connect+ but there are other ways to achieve the same thing for example:

    - put your Fenix 7 on the handlebars and wear an HRM strap paired to the watch

    - get an Edge cycle computer that can display the data fields you need e.g. 540 (or another watch), put it on the handlebars, pair it with all your sensors, and broadcast your HR to it from the Fenix 7.  As well as starting and saving the activity on your Fenix 7, you'll also need to start an activity on the device on your handlebars and then discard it when you have finished.

    - get an Edge cycle computer that can display the data fields you need e.g. 540 and use it as an Extended Display for your Fenix 7

  • As  wrote, I'd just add that as for monitoring the live HR and Calories, you can simply use the standard Garmin Connect app - the HR from the watch is shown there in real-time, live. No need for Connect+ just for that.

  • Yeah sorry my last two suggestions might only be worth doing if you have other sensors e.g. cadence, power which the OP doesn't have so I wasted my "breath", and Connect+ defo not worth it for this.
