Since update 5.22 Garmin Connect mobile app wil not send courses to my Garmin edge 1040.

Since update 5.22 Garmin Connect mobile app wil not send courses to my Garmin edge 1040.

When I select a course in my Garmin Connect mobile app (Android) and try to send it to my connected device Garmin Edge 1040: no popup screen and no course in my Garmin Edge 1040. 

BT connection is ok. When i select a ride in "Activities"  sending it to my device works fine. 

  • Since the upgrade of Garmin Connect to v 5.22, I can no longer sync Courses from the Android app to my Edge 530.

    I open the Course on my phone, click the icon to Sync, from the next screen I choose my Edge 530 ... and then nothing. Prior versions of Connect would pop up a confirmation that the Course will be pushed to my Edge upon the next sync. Manually forcing a sync also fails to send the Course to my Edge.

    I Have rebooted both phone and Edge, and I have also unpaired and re-paired the phone and Edge. The bluetooth connection is obviously working, as completed activities from the Edge do sync to Connect correctly.

  • I see the same with my Enduro 3. I had to upload a course over usb on my laptop as I have a trail race a the weekend.

  • Can you upload a video showing the process and it not syncing to your device? 

  • That's exactly what I also see, only in my case I tap to select my Edge 530 as the device to sync to ... but per Doug's video, nothing happens after I tap.

  • FWIW I've just synced a course from my Android app (Connect 5.22) to my Edge 840. It all worked as normal. 

  • Right, but the Edge 840 is newer generation than 530 and has likely had a recent firmware upgrade to complement the changes that Garmin has introduced in Connect 5.22.  By contrast the Edge 530 hasn't had any firmware updates for a long time. 

  • Yeah - I just thought that information might help narrow down the problem. 

  • Same issue here. No sync between Garmin Connect mobile app 5.22 and Garmin Edge 1040. 

    1. Please test your software before rolling it out 

    Also, in the future please display on watch once a course was successfully received.

    It's always try and error for your customers (usually works, but it would be so simple..)
