No audio prompt for Interval training ?

I have Garmin Connect 5.21 on Android 16 and a Forerunner 55 FW 11.03.

I'd like to have audio prompts in my BT earbuds when I do interval training.

I have set up "Lap Alerts" to ON in Garmin Connect (Forerunner 55 / Activity Options / Audio signals)

I have tried the build-in intervals on the watch and also the training from the Garmin Connect app, transfered to the watch.

When I start the training, I hear the watch beep & vibration, but no audio prompt in my BT earbuds.

What am I missing?

I have a Fenix 8 so settings might be different but when i look at my watch there is an on/off setting for "training alerts" which i think is used for intervals.

AFAIK "lap alerts" is for when you press the lap button or have auto-laps enabled (e.g. every 1km when running or 5km when cycling)

Audio prompts for Workout Alerts are available only on compatible devices. I do not think Forerunner 55 is one. In contrary Forerunner 255 or Forerunner 955 (as well as newer generations of FR) do support Workout Alerts. See the corresponding pages of their respective manuals below:

Yes it's an entry level product, but the manual is ambiguous when it says "You can set the Garmin Connect app to play motivational status announcements and training alerts on your phone during a run or other activity.".

Indeed there are non settings on the watch or in the app specifically about trainings...
