forerunner 255 correupt .fit files

treadmill run from 2/6 uploaded ok, my long run from today 2/10/26 did not upload. was on the watch locally. did not upload to strava.

plugged watch into computer to pull .fit file. used a website which found an error. used website to fix .fit file and able to upload fixed .fit to garmin connect website on pc. however still cannot upload to strava.

i will be annoyed if this problem persists. i've tried uninstalling app multiple times, forgetting watch via bluetooth, pairing from watch, pairing from phone, nothing worked.

Please report it to Garmin customer support and ask them to FIX the bug (don't let them send you the 3rd party workarounds and close the call!) It'll never be fixed if people don't demand a real fix!…

Were you attempting to manually upload the repaired FIT file to Strava? https://www.strava.com/upload/select

If so, what was the error message? If you still have the original fit file from your watch, you could zip then attach it here so we could see if there are any issues with it.

i posted and replied about my issue in another thread and included the zip file there, another user kindly was helping me troubleshoot but to no avail. ill attach it here too. the thread is here:

trying to upload the TCX after exporting from connect to Strava tells me, "The file has too few data points." uploading the original fit file gives me a "file does not exist" error on strava

any way you can point me in the right direction? garmins website navigation is ironically terrible.

the issue was fixed for my run this morning, everything uploaded as usual both to garmin connect and strava without issues and all metrics intact
