Birth date on Live Track

I have been using Connect Live track for a couple of years. Yesterday when trying to start it early in the morning in a wild area, it requested my birth date. Ok, let's do it ... Ooooops no way to enter the date directly, need to use a calendar ...  oooooops no way to move years, I have to move months one at a time. Well, I am 71yo so it means pressing the left arrow +850 times.

Obviously I get tired long before reaching my birth year. "You are 25 years old. That cannot be changed later".

I am sure now some clever guy will tell me "you should have pressed (obscure sequence of keys here)". Garmin guys, make it user friendly!

PS. I cannot care less about Garmin Connect thinking I am 25 ...

    1. Agree, it would be more user friendly to just have the possibility to type your DOB. Very user unfriendly to tap , in my case 720 times back in time.
  • As of January 13th, 2026, Garmin users are required to confirm their date of birth if they haven't already done so, which is what you both experienced. In order to maintain optimal data within your app, we advise ensuring that you set the correct date of birth, especially since users cannot change their age after entering it. You can read more about that here.

I've emailed you to request additional details so we can assist. I realize you mentioned that you don't mind what age you currently have entered, but if you change your mind and would be interested in correcting your birth date, please respond to our email so we can work together to resolve this.

It's not clear if you were unable to set your correct DOB, but I've emailed you just to be on the safe side. If you need help setting a correct date of birth, please respond to our email.

That said, we value your feedback about how this date is entered into the app and how intuitive the process is. Your date of birth can be entered by tapping on the year and scrolling back, so there's no need to click month by month. If you like, you can send your feedback to our developers at garmin.com/ideas for consideration.
