How comes that my phone shows last time watch was connected, but doesnt show where was it connected?

So, i just noticed my watch isnt on my wrist, from vague information on connect.garmin i get that my watch last synced 3am, so i guess thats last time when it recorded body data, and my phone shows last connection 6.30am, which is either when i was at home, or when i was getting in car, is there any particular reason, why garmin watches doesnt show last known location? should i be relieved that i forgot it at home, or should i be worried that it in some mythical way fell off and now is gone? why there isnt such function as last know location for device? (as it would help me if it was in building or outside building.....

There is a function to show last known location, but it only seems to be implemented for Edge devices. I only see it for my Edge 1030 and not for my Enduro 3 or FR945.

Yes, the watch does not know its location unless GPS is started. And that happens only when you start an outdoor activity, or access the GPS menu. You'll have to look at the location logs of your phone (if enabled and available), at the time the connections was lost. Phones can log their location through multiple means (GPS, wifi, GSM triangulation) continuously.

One way is to use the location of the phone every time it syncs. Even if it isn't that precise it will give you an idea where you were.

Yes, but as it is not implemented, it does not help the user in this specific situation. Certainly worth of suggesting as a future extension at Share Ideas | Garmin . But even without it, the location could be retrieved from the phone.
