Healt Connect Data Read

Currently Connect only can write data to Android / Google Health Connect. Is there any read support planed? Like for weight (when using a smartscale) or Nutrition data (when using another app)?

Unlikely. Garmin sells its own smart scale and has introduced its own nutrition tracking.

MFP protects it's main selling point nutrition tracking by not reading (only writing) this data from Health Connect.

So you think it's better to look for other platforms to bring together all the data if I'm using other devices / apps for certain things?

You can still sync weight from many brands of smart scales to Garmin Connect through a free account of MyFitnessPal. I do not know whether MyFitnessPal can import nutrition data from Health Connect, but it can read weight from many scales.

This technique is probably ending.

MFP was just served divorce papers, and they'll probably act uncooperatively.
