Unable to Reconnect Garmin Connect with MyFitnessPal (Samsung S23 – Android)

Hi,

I’m no longer able to link Garmin Connect with MyFitnessPal, and my calorie intake logged in MFP is no longer syncing to Garmin Connect.

Device: Samsung Galaxy S23 (Android)

I previously had the two apps linked without any issues. Recently I had to disconnect the integration, and after doing so I have been unable to reconnect them again.

I’ve tried the following steps without success:

  • Disconnected the apps from both sides

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled both Garmin Connect and MyFitnessPal

  • Logged in again and attempted to relink

  • Checked Health Connect permissions

  • Restarted the phone

Despite all this, MyFitnessPal no longer appears under Connected Apps in Garmin Connect, and the link cannot be re‑established.

Is this a known issue, and is there any current workaround or fix?

  • I have the same issue. It appeared after the latest addition of calorie counter to Garmin Connect. However, since its nowhere as accurate and robust (yet) as Myfitnesspal, Id like to continue using MyFitnessPal. However, as the user above states, this app doesnt show anymore on the Connected Apps list. And if I try to link it from the MyFitnessPal side, it takes me to Calorie web of Garmin Connect, where is no possibility to connect anything

  • Hi, see the screen recording on how to link MFP with Garmin Connect.

  • When I try the sequence you suggest and select Garmin connect, it opens a window that has two options UPDATE or BUY and Garmin Connect is already installed and working fine.  No option to connect can be found.

  • Strange! Now that mine is connected, I see the following options- 

    Have you checked in Garmin Connect if you have disconnected MFP and try again?

  • In the Garmin Connect app, when I go to Connected apps ... it says "No connected apps"

  • UPDATE ... I'm not exactly sure what I did, but it is working again.  I went to the MyFitnessPal website (not mobile app) and logged in.  From there I think I went to Apps and selected Garmin Connect and it offered to connect.  I followed through and connected via the website.  When I went back to the mobile MyFitnessPal app, it said I was connected to Garmin Connect.  The connection is now working!

  • I’ve been trying for 4 days now with the same issue.. still won’t connect! 

  • Same. It keeps saying “ the change you wanted was rejected”
