I’d like to share some feedback regarding the nutrition barcode scanning feature in Garmin Connect+.
When my location is set to Belgium, the barcode scanning database feels very limited. Many products that are widely available in Belgian supermarkets cannot be found. For example:
-
Products from Dutch supermarket chains that have many stores in Belgium
-
German brands that are commonly sold in Belgian shops
When I change my location setting to the Netherlands or Germany, these exact same products are found immediately via barcode scanning.
Because of this, setting the location to Belgium significantly reduces the usefulness of the scanning feature, even though the products are readily available locally.
Would it be possible to?:
- Open up the barcode scanning database on a broader level (e.g. Europe-wide instead of country-specific), or
-
Be able to select multiple databases at the same time (neighboring countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany).
