How can I connect my Whaoo heart rate monitor?

Can you help? I'm trying to connect my wahoo TICKR X A796 heart rate monitor to Garmin connect so I then can use the training app for my bike trainer set up. I've got my trainer set up and connected but I'm not able to get the heart rate to connect.

I use the iPad mini to connect my devices for training. The heart rate monitor is showing connected via Bluetooth. How can I get Garmin to see the heart rate monitor?

I'm new to this platform so any help appreciated

What Garmin watch/device are you trying to connect the TICKR to? Garmin Connect isn't a training app, it uses workouts/activities recorded on Garmin devices (and some other platforms). What app are you running on your iPad mini?

Besides what druidh wrote (connecting the HRM strap directly to your Garmin device), you can also use Garmin Tacx Training app for recording your indoor bike rides. Unlike Connect, Tacx Training app can be paired even with 3rd party sensors. And rides recorded by the Tacx app sync with your Garmin Connect account automatically.

Thanks, my goal is to mirror my Zwift set up - the trainer connects to the Garmin training app and when I am doing the workout it also shows me heart rate. My Apple Watch can record heart rate. Is this an option?

If you want to use Zwift for recording the activities, you have to connect all sensors to Zwift, otherwise it cannot process the data properly. It is then Zwift who will transfer the HR (and all other) data to Garmin.

There is no Garmin training app, so I assume you refer to the (Garmin) Tacx Training app. If you are using it, then you can connect the HRM strap directly to the app.

Another possibility is connecting the strap directly to your indoor bike (if it has that option).
