Komoot on Venu S2 report Offline

After usinng the Komoot app for navigation from my watch for years without issues, after the last update it doesn't work anymore:

- the tours arrive in the Connect app correctly
- when traying to open a tour on the watch, it shows the available tours correctly, but with each tour is shows a tiny broken cloud icon.
- after selecting a tour it takes a 30 secs or so befor the error message appears: You are Offline. Only downloaded tours are available. Connect with your phone via BT etc.

All the time I am connected with BT. WiFi on the watch is switched off.

Tracking a walk or ride with the komoot app on the atch works fine and the recoding is uploaded to Garmin Connect and the Komoot account correctly.

Watch: Garmin Venu 2 version: 19.05 Connect IQ System 7

Komoot on watch: version 4.23.2 date 2025-10-20

Phone: Galaxy S22, Android version 16, Version One UI 8.0

Komoot app on phone: version: 2025.47.0

Thanks for any suggestions

Jos

  • According to Garmin support:

"Unfortunately, this is a known issue that we and Komoot are aware of. Komoot has indicated that the solution for now is to upload the GPX file via Garmin Connect. That's the solution for now. Unfortunately, we don't know if a solution will be forthcoming, since it's handled through Komoot."

I haven't tried this, so don't know if it solves the issue. For the moment I stick with 5.18.

  • Isn't this basically them saying Komoot maps can't be used anymore with Garmin Connect 5.19+? A GPX in Garmin Connect will just use Garmin maps. I really hope they are able to find a solution soon, as at some point they could introduce device software updates that aren't compatible with old Garmin Connect versions, I suppose...

  • I don't know if that is the case. Navigating Komoot routes in Garmin Connect works as before, without importing the gpx. So I hope opening the imported gpx routes will open correctly on the watch. A bit more work, as the integration until 5,18 is wthout any work but indicating that you navigate on Garmin. I might try the suggested bypass this week.

  • This should be resolved by the 5.19.2 update to the Garmin Connect app for Android, released earlier today (11/19/25). Please try updating and let us know if issues persist.

  • 5.19.2 and komoot works for me (Venu 3)

    Thanks

  • Yes, works. Thanks!
