Floors climbed

I rotate between 2 Garmin watches - an Instinct 2X and a Fenix 7 Pro. The Fenix is my primary wearable and primary training device. Whenever I change my watch during the day, the floors climbed using the earlier watch say in the morning gets deleted on Garmin Connect. This has been frustrating as I have a goal and the daily, weekly and annual data is no longer valid. As many others have described I do have incorrect readings but that by itself is not a major problem as is the deletion.

  • It would be great to have the ability to edit floors climbed on Garmin Connect as a way of fixing erroneous data. Otherwise the daily, weekly, monthly achieved totals against goals set become invalid.

  • It should work with TrueUp. Do you make sure the floors are synced to Garmin Connect before you switch watch?

Do you keep the watch you are not using turned off?

I would try this: Make sure you see the data in Garmin Connect. Turn off the watch you are wearing. Turn on the other watch and make sure it syncs with Garmin Connect. The floors should now be TrueUp:ed to that watch.

What Is the Garmin Connect TrueUp Feature and How Does It Work?

  • Thanks. I do just that. I ensure my current watch data has been synced to Connect before switching off. Then switching on the next watch.

Not sure if the issue is because the data is first written via BT  to the phone and it has not been synced to Garmin web servers yet which may hold data that is some hours old. A software bug might now see a different device being used and reset the data / score to zero? Would that explain the issue? I dont know or understand what is going on but it has been quite frustrating.

  • If you only are looking at the data in the Home page in the app then it might not be synced to the servers. Always click on the stat and make sure you see the data in the Floors page. Then it is synced to the servers.

  • Thanks I will give it a try tomorrow and see how it goes.

  • Tried and it did it again. I had not set any workouts but was just going about my daily grind. Strangely enough Steps did not over write after I changed devices.. Just the floors climbed was over written.  There appears to be a bug in Connect. GI2X firmware 17.07; GF7P at 23.18 and Connect at version 5.18. Can Garmin please confirm there is a bug in Connect? Thanks.
