Why is Garmin Connect calculating elevation Progress on mountains when the posted progress is based on a watch with a barometric altimeter? I have noticed 3 to 4 Progress updates within Connect, doubling to tripling the original posted elevation Progress from the watch.
There seems to be lots of elevation calculations being hashed and rehashed in the Garmin Connect back office using some sort of Rube Goldberg program from the time of the activity post to a day later. Not that I’m complaining as I get the credit for climbing Mount Whatever that much faster!
