Venu 3S activities not syncing anymore

Hi, Since yesterday my Venu 3S only syncs the health data in the app but not the activities. I can see the activities via History on the watch and they contain data like time and HR Zones etc. so they seem ok. But when I sync with the Garmin Connect app the wheel turns and completes but they are not transferred. I also tried via the Garmin website to import them but then it gives an error to try again. The 3 FIT-files that don't get imported are smaller (like 4 KB to 8 KB) but they do contain data. Restarting the watch doesn't give a difference. What could be the problem?

  • Try to repair the file using 3rd-party tools, such as FIT File Viewer. Runs in the browser and require no additional software. If you're still unable to import the activity into Garmin Connect, zip then attach the files to this thread. We can take a look to see if these are repairable or what else could be the problem.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

    If that is the case, this is extremely small for any type of activity. It could be because of the known issue which was mentioned here - New bug in FIT files: empty File ID and no Record messages - Garmin Connect Web - Mobile Apps & Web - Garmin Forums

    If so, Fit File Viewer will at least repair it to the point where Garmin Connect will accept the import, but much of the data within will be missing.

  • Thank you so much for providing a solution. It worked with repairing it with the Fit File Viewer but I had to import them via the connect.garmin website and then it also updated in the android app.

    The errors for the files were like this for all 3 files: 

    There are 12 duplicate records: Duplicate records are marked in red.
    The file_id message is missing or empty

    I see that more people recently reported this problem so I guess we have to wait until Garmin comes up with a solution. Thanks for your help!
