No audio prompts

Your right in that it is annoying that the app is brought to the fore with the annoying audio prompts in progress notification, rather than playing in the background.

But I'll take this until they get there act together & learn how to code properly.

What I don't understand is before these last few updates everything worked in the background, why not revert to the code that worked properly.

Its simple. The reason they will not revert this is exactly because you (and I and everyone else) will take this "fix" until they will get their act together, which will be never. Because they don't have to if we are happy enough with this half baked prompts. It's typical corporate BS thinking, they will not invest if they don't have to. They will lie that they have team fixing it while in reality they have to do things that they can't pretend are fixed. Another thing with reverting is that someone would have to take blame for implementing "new better prompt system" for nothing. They lie to us and lie to each other in corporate ladder. Whats sad is that all the sport-tech influencers are always pointing their competition for releasing half-baked software while in the same time being silent about Garmin going in exactly the same direction.

People in this thread have identified the last version that worked correctly.  You would think they could at least roll back the change that caused this issue.

I'm confused,  on my enduro 3 no matter what I do I can't 1 min heart rate alerts with or without my phone near me like  use to...  

Just use 5.11.2 for now,  it actually works perfectly with 1040 and 1050 if that is the computer you're using.   But I agree this has been a wheels off moment for Garmin and a huge black eye...   I don't know what they did to my Enduro 3 watch,   I can't get 1 min timed heart rate alerts no matter what I do....  Doesn't matter what version of connect I have plugged in.  I remember a time when I could leave my phone at home and go running and get heart rate voice alerts with my Bluetooth headset connected to my watch..  The good ole days..

Could you be more specific?  What type of voice prompts are you talking about?   Navagational,  like "turn left"   or, time-based VOICE heart rate alerts NOT requiring a lap button push?

I've struggled with this for months. I think it was the last update because after I received the update to my Fenix 7 Pro, I had to reset all my permissions and notifications for my watch and phone. I notice that when I open and run sync on my Garmin Connect app, I get the best results for audio prompts. They often only work about 75% of the time, and this number is higher when I make sure GC is "open" (and in the  forground like others have stated) and recently sync-ed.

If the app is closed and especially if it's running in the background only, I get audio prompts maybe once if at all.
