No audio prompts

If the Garmin Connect app is not running in the foreground, audio prompts during an activity are not to be heard anymore.

Only with an open Connect app, audio prompts can be heard.

That's not how it should be. Nobody has the Connect app open and activated during an activity.

(Android Samsung S25 Ultra, Connect app v 5.17.1, connected to Forerunner 955, with Google TTS activated)

    What did you do if you don't mind me asking? I went for a run this morning and the 5.17.2 version worked flawlessly. It was a short run, though, so maybe I was just lucky. This is ridiculous, regardless.

    I also went for a run, with version 5.17.2.
    But it's not working properly...
    For each lap, I should hear:
    - HR
    - Lap power
    - Average pace
    - Lap time
    But unfortunately, I only hear one of these values; the others are ignored.
    And again, these are announcements per lap. If you want to get them based on duration (from 1 to 10 minutes), then there's nothing at all.

    @randyCro..   Hey,  I have a couple of questions for you.   What watch are you using.  I use the Enduro 3 and honestly none of the timed alerts work for me.   Are you bringing your phone with you with you run?   I'm a bit confused though,   I thought we didn't need our phones to get alerts if we are using paired headphones?  Even still,  none of the alerts work as they should in terms of activity focus alerts,  and I'm pretty sure the other ones don't work either ...

    Issue persists for me on Android 5.17.2 with a Forerunner 945.  I should hear lap number and time for each lap.

    I use a fenix 8 51mm amoled, and I always have my phone with me...

    I've updated to 5.17.2 and have had two 1 hour workouts, one with navigation and one without.i received all my audio prompts apart from when I start the activity. So not fully functioning as yet! Some people have said that after a while they get no prompts, but for the 1 hour runs I've done they seemed to work.

    Garmin 965,  OnePlus 12 phone

    Hopefully more improvements on the way, I just hope Garmin test everything, fully, before releasing the updates

    Hey guys,  if you are using the 1050 or 1040 and need voice prompts get on your phone and  backdate you connect app on your phone...   If you need help let me know.. This is only a temp fix until Garmin pulls the head out...     Go here,  and download 5.11.2    ...   This will install a working version of connect for cyclist...  connect.en.uptodown.com/.../versions

     Two full weeks have now passed, and the audio prompts still aren't working properly.
    Dear Garmin software developers, when will you finally completely fix this problem?

    I agree,  and I'm super pissed.. I went on a long hike today with my wife and it wasn't working at all on her vivoactive 6 either.. I persuaded her to move from fitbit to garmin so she could specifically use the GPS nav feature,  needless to say I feel like an idiot right now..  Totally unacceptable for Garmin to not fix this as soon as it was reported..
