App running in the background

Since the last update (5.17, 9 sept 2025), my Connect app is continuously running in the background. Ive tried rebooting the phone and forced stop app but no luck. Even after denying all permissions, it was still there. When I turned off 'allow usages data in the background,' in mobile data it stopped. But it also stopped the app from working like it should. Is it a bug or what's going on? 

  • Seems Like it from the last 2 update(sep 9 and 15). On the version 5.15.2 it work as it always has so the only option is to downgrade or wait until they fix this on samsung phones.

  • This problem appears to have been fixed by the new version of Garmin Connect released yesterday. My phone no longer continuously shows a notification about GC running in the background.

    I am aware that GC does still sometimes run in the background for syncing or other purposes - but it does not run continuously (I hope) so should not continuously show the notification, and such a notification may well indicate a problem (which is why the notification exists).
