Adding a Versaclimber App to Garmin

I have sent Garmin a message on how to improve its platform about asking to add/create a Versaclimber app or climbing machine app but have had no luck. Any suggestions how to get Garmin and Versaclimber to create a app? Thanks.

I have currently tried other apps [indoor climbing, bouldering, stair climber] and none to be seem as good as the treadmill. The issue with treadmill is it in not accurate and you have to add in your assent/descent elevation. I have got a some of this information from older post but they are all locked because they are so old.

  • The watch cannot measure elevation gain on an indoor machine, hence you will always have to enter it manually. Well, unless your indoor trainer machine can deliver the data - in that case have a look at the Connect IQ store whether there is a 3rd party app supporting your machine. If not, you can ask the manufacturer to consider developing a CIQ app for Garmin, or you can ask CIQ developers, whether someone would be interested in coding one for you (see the Developer menu at the top).

Otherwise, there are already some apps for training machines (treadmills, elliptical, ...) with incline, in the CIQ store: Connect IQ Store |  Garmin

  • Thank you Trux! Even if it could not measure elevation, perhaps it could measure pull downs/step ups as opposed to the treadmill steps per arm swing assuming. I checked into Versaclimber and 3rd party apps but nothing is somewhat accurate is on there. I would think Versaclimber would want to create a CIQ app and coordinate with Garmin to support its product [older products that is w/o bluetooth]. Good intel and thanks again for the reply.
