Default gear per activity

This is a request for over 9+ year. And still Garmin lacks in innovation. Wondering what these developers might be thinking. They do create a useless Connect+, but implementing one feature request, requested by many is one to much. So here it is again.

We need default gear selection per activity as we all have many gear for cycling, running, walking etc. How hard can it by.....
We love stats and we love to keep track of things. That is the reason I use a smart sport tracker. To track things...
So you explain me what the reason is to create multiple gears if I can't assign them to default activities?

    I too need to be able to select different gear per activity. I run Tue - Thurs in one pair of shoes and Saturday in another. How can I easily change the 'geat' after the run?

    Just open the activity in the Garmin Connect app, and then tap the "Gear" tab. There you can add/remove gear.

    Thanks for the reply, but I need to be able to change the gear already assigned to the activity for what is set to the default.

    When I go into an activity what already has gear (shoes) assigned it it, it will not let me remove or change the shoes assigned to it.

    Really? Works for me. I just enter the activity, go to the "Gear" tab, tap the three dots in the top right corner, and there I select "Add or remove gear".

    OOPS my bad, I was going into Gear on the activity, so I couldn't change it, but the 3 dots then Add or Remove Gear is the ticket! Thanks!

    It would be great and way more easily to being able to select default gear per activity. I can select running shoes for running and a bicycle for cycling. So why cant we (by default) select a differant bike for a differant kind of biking activity? MTB, Road cycling, Commute... I don't go mountainbiking with my race bicycle. This could open-up so much more to track and maintain your gear....
