Vivoactive 3 heats up when charging and won't keep a charge

My Vivoactive 3 shuts off after a minute unplugged from the charging cable. I have changed the cable, charging block, and wall plug that I use. I have cleaned the contact surfaces and re-synced the device. The watch gets hot on the charging cable after about 5-10 minutes. The watch shuts off shortly after I take it off the cable. Any advice on how to resolve this issue?

Well, if it really gets unusually hot, then I am afraid there is a hardware problem that you probably cannot resolve yourself. Your only chance is that it could be caused by a shortcut due to some dirt between the contacts. You can try to clean them with a fine toothbrush and a drop of isopropyl alcohol. If it does not help (which is rather probable, unfortunately), then contact the Product Support, and discuss it with them.
