Garmin Connect - empty fields of profile, pulse zones and power zones

Garmin Edge 1040 (27.10)
Garmin Connect Android (5.12.1)
Tested on two devices, Android 14

I start Garmin Connect, open the device, tap on it, open "My Statistics" and see that the data fields are not displayed: power zones, heart rate zones, user profile, everywhere is empty. Edge 1040 synchronizes without problems, all data in the device is entered and saved, but in Garmin Connect is empty. All permissions have been granted to the app. On rare occasions profile, power and heart rate data appears, there is no pattern. Just wondering, is there any way to fix this or is Garmin writing another beta update that will break up the rest of the functionality that worked smoothly before?

Tired of bumping into Garmin's problems, the 1040 is an endless $600 beta test. Looks like it's going to go on forever...

  • Looks like a networking problem, or being blocked by CloudFlare (kind of firewall service Garmin uses to protect their servers). I would test it with an alternative Internet connection.

  • Alternative Internet channel tried, all traffic is directed through VPN server (Netherlands), no change.
Setting the FTP in the app doesn't work either, it doesn't save, that's sad
Garmin Connect Web all work fine.

  • all traffic is directed through VPN server (Netherlands)

Perhaps there is a different problem, but CloudFlare often denies access from many VPNs, since they tend to be abused by hackers for hiding their location. I would try it with an alternative local Internet provider instead.

You could try reinstalling the app, although you told you get the same result on two phones, so it is not very likely to help. Installing an older version of the app from apkmirror.com would be worth of trying too. Otherwise, reach out to your local Support, and in the meantime change the parameters directly on your Edge.

  • I have been experiencing the same problem for a year now with EDGE 840.

  • Same story, this has been going on since I bought the 1040. 2 years
