Hello,
I totally agree, this is non sense.;
they want to charge 9e per month, so additional 108e per year for life, almost as much as Netfix. Garmin connect is old, not well done, a lot of basics functionalities…
I share the same feeling, betrayal. I've just bought a "premium" Fenix 8 and now I must to pay a subscription to be "premium+"... No way!
Garmin has charged for services for years. Why buy a Tacx trainer when they are charging for Tacx subscription? Why buy an Inreach when they are charging for Inreach subscription. And many more subscriptions…

they want to charge 9e per month, so additional 108e per year for life, almost as much as Netfix. Garmin connect is old, not well done, a lot of basics functionalities are not done, and you want us to pay for it. Mobile app especially is not sufficient, I already use external services.
We already bought a Watch at 500, 600, 1000eur. This is total non-sense.
My next watch will not be a garmin if this membership still exists.

I will change from Garmin to Amazfit or Choros.
that Garmin on their 1Q earnings call last week didn't disclose any subscriber numbers (even the ones who signed up for the free trial from March.27 onwards) tells you a lot how disastrous this connect+ rollout was executed and how poor it was actually going in April... if your business model goes into subscription model, the number of active subscribers is significant, withholding this piece of information is a bad signal and doesn't spread confidence and no, telling investors "we are here for the long run" doesn't sounds promising.
