Fitness age won't use my custom resting heart rate

Even though I have done all steps to correct this ie my custom HR is recorded, averaging in workouts is not on.  My weight and height is recorded, I cannot get Garmin Connect to recognise my custom HR its still using the average in my workouts or something equally ridiculous.  I have a chest strap for measuring HR.  I do not wear the device while I sleep.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot help you with this here on the user forum. You can try reporting it to the Support, but I am afraid they will not change it anyway. Your only chance is putting the strap on when you are still at rest, before you start exercising. You'd have to do it daily, though, in order to keep the 7 days avg. low (or at least each day you record an activity). Also, please note that unless you have the HRM-Pro strap (and connected to the phone app), you'd need to start an activity for activating the HR logging.

  • So I gather since this issue was last posted about 3 years ago, nothing has been done by Garmin to fix it?  Thats pretty bad, especially since it supposedly affords you the option to use it.  So the only work around is as you say.  Sigh, is it worth it!  thanks for responding anyway!

On my mind it is intentional, and by design. Garmin usually tries to limit the user to modify the metrics manually. It is the same in many other cases, like the LTHR, Calories, Steps, etc. So, yes, you can request a change at Share Ideas | Garmin, but I do not really believe it will change anything.
