Garmin epix pro. How to see live indoor training data in connect app

Hi all,

It is probably an old topic question but I cannot find a good forum that has a good answer to the following.

This week I switched from my galaxy watch to an Epic pro (gen 2) It is a great watch, but I can't seem to find a way to show realtime data for indoor training on a treadmill, or indoor bike in the connect app. The best I can get is my live HR, but no time passed or calories whatsoever.

It is hard for me to look at my watch for that information when I am doin the exercises. With the Samsung it was no problem at all. I just paired with my phone and the data showed live.

Hope someone has the answer. I haven't found it yet.

Regards Jacobs

  • There is no stock option for that, but a few years ago there was a 3rd party Connect IQ app with and Android compagnon for that. Not sure it is still available, but you can try searching the CIQ store.

If not that, and if you use an HRM chest strap, then you can just attach your watch to the handlebar of your indoor bike or treadmill.

  • Thank you for giving me some options to dive into.

I looked in the IQ store, have not found it yet. I did see you are able to develop your own app with help of open API's. I don't really want to go that far yet, but I my search is without succes, than maybe I will try to figure out if I can build it myself.

I will keep my efforts posted here

  • Have a look for example here: https://github.com/basva923/GarminLive

It is a 5 years old app, though, and I have no idea whether it still works.
