No weather data since 5.10 on Android

Lost weather data. Felix 8 says it’s waiting on Connect for data. Watch is connected to phone and syncs through Connect. I’ve removed watch from Connect and phone’s BT, rebooted phone, reconnected to BT and Connect and nothing works. Made sure location is always on in phone. Watch was updated yesterday to 13.31. Everything was fine until the Connect update I did this afternoon.

  • There is location data available for my current location, as evidenced by the widgets on my phone and iPad.

  • Do you allow background data for the Connect app?

Make sure Garmin Connect always is running.

  • Yes, as I stated, location is always on, not just when app is in use.

Plus, Connect is obviously running while syncing and still no data.  This isn't intermittent.  It seems the go to for people is this answer, but it obviously is not the problem.  The symptom would look different.  It would show data while the app is open and I was syncing and then when I navigated away from app, it would lose data.  That is NOT what is happening.

  • Try setting a different Weather Location in GC Settings » User Settings. Use a remote location near an important international airport for the testing. If the remote manually set location works, then the problem is probably the lack of data for your true location. If it does not work either, then there could be a problem with syncing the data to the watch. Browse through the Device Sync Audits on the app, and check for any errors.

  • Device sync audit shows success with no errors.

All adding a location does is make it jump to the internet, which it will do.

Not the same data provider. Garmin uses their own network of weather data stations, mostly at airports.

  • This actually ended up being very useful information.  Yesterday afternoon the data reappeared.  So, the quick answer to my original question was that the reporting station was offline.  Data also reported fine when I drove to a trail about 30 miles away.
