Garmin Edge 830 Pairing Failed

My Garmin Edge 830 can be detected by the Garmin Connect App through Bluetooth but the pairing always fail saying "Setup was not successful".

My phone shows the pairing request and shows the correct passkey.

What should I do next?

I recently 'upgraded' to Google Messenger as the Samsung S10+ Android message app is going away. The very next ride after that the ride did not upload & when going into the ride on my Garmin 820 the 'Upload Ride' option was missing. I could not sync the phone no matter how many times I tried or YouTube videos I watched. I deleted the Google Messenger app, went back to the Samsung message app & voila, sync'ed up in seconds. Not sure what to try when Samsung app goes for good, but at least I know what doesn't work. Now.
