Step goal changed by itself from a manual goal, making me lose a 1066 day streak

Step goal changed by itself from a manual goal, making me lose a 1066 day streak:

I had a manual set goal of 2500 (I have a job in which I cannot have my watch on through out the day), and a streak of 1066. I looked this morning at my watch to see my streak was down at 2 and thought this was of as I cannot remember a day where I have not seen the notification saying 2500/2500 pop up. I look on the app and find that my goal on the app had reset itself to 10k (problem 1) and it hadn't gone through to the watch (problem 2) meaning I was unable to rectify the change at the time causing me to lose my streak on 2 Feb.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I would like to think Garmin would manually fix this and back date my streak, but knowing their customer support, I doubt they would be that helpful.....

Personally, I never had any such problem in the ~7 years I use Garmin, though my goal is set to 10k anyway. And I also do not remember anyone else reporting such incident here on the forum.

You can do it yourself - backdate your phone, edit the goal in Garmin Connect, verify the goal was met, and then change the system time & date back to auto. It all takes around 20s, much faster than calling the Support.

  • Interesting, cheers for that
