No Voice Prompt on new device

I've just changed my samsung device and now the audio prompts from my Fenix 8 no longer work. Previously I'd get alerts through my headphones, even when music was playing, giving me lap information and pace information however this has stopped since going to my new phone.

I've checked the device settings on connect within the focus modes options and they're enabled so I'm not sure what else to do.

  • When you look at Garmin Connect during the activity, is the watch connected (green dot at the icon of the watch)?

  • Yeah the watch is connected and that is shown on both the watch and my phone

  • Yes, in fact on Fenix 8 it should work without the phone too, I think. Did you check the Audio Prompts settings? You can also test the volume form the settings page, excluding so that it is set to zero.

  • The audio output option on Focus Modes -> Activity Focus -> Voice Alerts is set to connected devices, the option that was set on my old phone so this should work. I have a feeling it is an issue with the playback on my samsung device not my watch (and yes, the volume is turned up on my phone Sweat smile)

  • the volume is turned up on my phone

The volume level is individual for every app, so if it is turned up for the ring tone or for other apps, does not necessarily mean it is enabled for Garmin Connect too. I recommend testing it.

  • As far as I'm aware Samsung don't have individual volume levels for individual apps, certainly I've never experienced that in 10 years of owning them. The media volume level is increased and this should allow garmin connect to output volume

  • As far as I'm aware Samsung don't have individual volume levels for individual apps

Not sure about all apps, but Garmin Connect definitely has an independent volume control on all phones, Samsung including (I had one too). I do not understand why you do not want to listen the advice and simply test it. If you see it does not help, contact the Support.
