Garmin Connect keeps forgetting Forerunner 935

Far too often, when I open Garmin Connect, I am greeted by a message saying "Device Not Connected: It looks like your Forerunner 935 device isn't fully connected ..."

I then have to put the device in pairing mode, and reconnect it in Garmin Connect. Most of the time I get an email saying "Thanks for registering your Forerunner 935". I now have six such emails since September 4.

Needless to say this is incredibly annoying. Does anybody know what's causing this?

This is not happening to my other Garmin devices, only the Forerunner.

  • Same issue here with a Forerunner 955. Garmin Connect keeps forgetting my device and I have to reconnect it several times per week, just like you. It's extremely annoying.

    I've tried to uninstall the latest app version, and install version 5.5 from apkmirror. 5 minutes later Google Play Store is already updating the app to the latest version again. Didn't want to go through the trouble of changing the apk signatures etc to avoid the automatic update, so not sure if it still works that way.

    I hope Garmin will come with an update to fix this soon.

  • e Android phone so found that you can just stop a particular app from updating and leave auto update on for the rest.

    " under Manage Apps and Device, then Manage, click on your app, then 3 dot menu in the top right untick Auto Update"

    So I am still running V5.5 of the app no problem with syncing my old Forerunner.
    Will Garmin fix this? I have contacted them and no replies except the early one for a discount on a new watch. They are not interested.
