How can I suppress an activity from personal records?

I ran 5 km today.

My Garmin watch GPS was particularly wrong and recorded more distance than I actually ran (perhaps due to a little rain). Including a 250 m height difference that is pure error.

Unfortunately I accepted In Garmin Connect the run as new personal record for 1 km, 1 mile, and 5 km, before seeing the GPS mistakes.

How can I get back the previous personal records, without destroying today's run - which I would like to keep, however unprecise, just to remember what I did today?

  • OK, I never used the website. It works... but then you cannot put back the previous record.

Actually you cannot put back anything. When typing in the fields, it does not save anything.

And the whole Garmin website is badly designed. It keeps asking you about cookies (which I reject). Then whenever I reopen the site it asks for login/password, although each time I check "Remember me".

Come on guys, do yourself a favor, build a good website, not that big piece of c..p.

When you delete the newest record, the previous record replaces it. And if it did not happen for some reason in your case, then you can always assign it manually again.

Does not happen to me (well, it happened once)

    which I reject

    Why?

No wonder, if you rejected the cookies

Personally, I am happy with it, but if you have some comments, ideas, or complaints, I recommend reaching out to the Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.comHere you are just on the community forum.

How ? This does not seem possible.

  • OK, at last I understood how to do it.

Unfortunately it does not take into account lower distances than the full run. I always run between 5 and 15 km, so my personal record for 1 km is reached on a longer run. This is correctly computed after a new activity, but it does not seem possible to do it afterwards.

Managing Personal Records is described in the article linked in my previous reply.

You can either edit the time manually (if you remember it), or you can temporarily trim the activity to the fastest section of given length, assign the record, and then restore the original activity.

  • Thanks for your patient explanations. I modified the times manually.
