garmin exceeded maximum number of workouts even after I delete all workouts

In the past when this happened I could just delete workouts from the web UI and that, in turn, removed all workouts from my watch. Now the issue persists even if all workouts are removed via the web - any suggestions? (Epix 2)

  • Normally, you do not need to delete workouts in Garmin Connect, you only have to delete them on the watch. The simplest way is doing it over the USB cable, by cleaning up the folder //GARMIN/Workouts. It can contain only up to 25 files. You can keep hundreds of workouts in Garmin Connect. And if you schedule workouts, the scheduled ones are kept in a different folder, and are not the subject of the limit of 25.

  • Once I removed all workouts but one from the web the watch -seemingly - synced up and showed the same status....yet, still threw the same error message. The reason for past tense: I got so pissed (and tired of dicking around) that I did a factory reset on the watch ... which, of course, resolved the issue. But to this: I'm mostly a Mac user and Connect is USELESS on a Mac. Never ever connects to the watch so - practically speaking - the solution you suggested is not available to me. FWIW: connect - generally - works on my Win machines but still very finicky - keeps dropping the connection all the time. Tried multiple cables and several machines (I work in tech so I have access to several PCs at any point in time) in general: I love Garmi, the watch but hate Garmi the software/application ... these guys are a decade behind , if not more. Thank you for your suggestion.
