Garmin watch "not connected" in mobile bluetooth menu?

Hi,

I have recently bought a Garmin epix pro watch and I am really enjoying it. However, when I look at the bluetooth devices list in my smartphone, it appears in black colour and not blue, which is the colour that connected devices have (I attach a photo). On the other hand, the watch is connected when I open the Garmin connect app. Is this normal? Should it be in blue colour? (It's my first Garmin watch. The previous watch was a Huawei one and it was in blue when I looked at the bluetooth list).

On the other hand, is it normal that the connection gets lost whenever I close the garmin connect app? With my previous watch, I could close the app and the connection kept working.

  • The colors in the BT list is up to the phone. Don't bother about that. If the watch is connected in Garmin Connect then it works.

    Never close the Connect app. It must be running to keep the connection to the watch. On Android the app will auto start unless the operating system prevents it. Maybe your new phone does that.
