Custom HR zones not working

 hi

Sorry for the massive pics by the way, not sure how to change this!

Im using a venu 2 sq music and experiencing an issue whereby my custom heart rate zones are not showing in my activities correctly. Instead, only factory HR zones are showing. I've followed some guidance online and everything is synced up so should be fine. The custom zones are even showing in my settings in the watch.

I'm hoping that is resolvable, otherwise I don't understand the point in being able to customise your zones.

For reference, the new zones should roughly show as:

Thanks!

  • Was the activity done before or after the change of the HR Zone? The change has no effect on previous activities.

Edit the post (see the More link under your post), resize the images by dragging one of the corners, and post again.

  • ... also, when you tap the last item on the HR Zones screen "Sport Heart Rate", verify that the Running HRZ table is either not defined at all, or that it is set identically, if it is there already.

  • ... and BTW, I recommend doing the majority of your running in the Zone 2, maximally Z3, if you want to progress faster. If you are starting with the running, I recommend staying at that for a few months, and only then add some occasional harder runs, or interval training, but generally ~80% of your training time should not go over Z3 (regardless how slow you have to run for that), in order to prevent long recovery and injuries

  • Thanks for the quick response. The activity was done after the HR zones were changed. I even checked my watch before hand and could see they were set correctly.

Thanks for the pointer on the sport heart rate zone. I've just set this up for running now. Could that be cause? I just assumed your overall HR zone would apply to all sports unless overridden at Sport Heart Rate Level.

  • Thanks for the zone 2 running tip. That's the exact reason why I'm so keen for this to work correctly :)

If a running HRZ table already existed then yes. You can test it quickly and easily by starting a dummy running activity for a few seconds (without leaving the chair), saving it, and then reviewing the stats of the activity. No need to wait for the next run.

I just assumed your overall HR zone would apply to all sports unless overridden at Sport Heart Rate Level.

Only if no table for the concerned sport existed. If it already exists, then the general table will not override it. It would not make much sense.

  • Brilliant, that's worked a treat. Thanks for you help Slight smile
