Connect not pushing second WhatsApp message to Garmin Device (Fenix and Edge)

Today I noticed I am not receiving the second message in a Whatsapp conversation if it is send in short succession. I first posted this in the Fenix forums thinking it was watch related, but it seems to be related to the Connect App, because I am experiencing the same issue on my Edge 840. I am using a Samsung 24 as my phone. 

EDIT: Additionally I checked other messaging apps, but this only occurs with WhatsApp (and WA Business), not with for example Telegram or text messages.

For example the following converstion:

1. Okay.
2. I will be there.

The second message is not being pushed to my Fenix or Edge. Only after receiving a 3rd message will it show the second message (or when enough time has passed). This  van be annoying, because often people reply to your question in a separate message and then follow up with a question/remark of their own. I keep missing that part.
I tried reinstalling Connect but that hasn't made a difference.

Interestingly, on my watch when I open the notification center I can see the preview of the conversation and there it *does* show the missing message. However, when I then tap it to read the full message, I only see the first message again 

I included two pictures of my watch's screen. To be clear, the two messages are send seconds after eachother. The notificaton only shows message 1. The notificaton center shows both. Wheopening the messages it shows only message 1 again.

  • Hello, I have exactly the same issue, both on my Fenix 7 (non pro) and my current Fenix 8. This became an issue on the Fenix 7 a few months ago (unsure when exactly) and has always been the issue on the Fenix 8.

  • I don't see this issue on my Instinct 3, so it seems to be these devices specifically...

  • I have the same problem. It's only WhatsApp issue. I have Fenix 7 and s24 as well. I thing a had same problem with my previous Galaxy S21. I didn't find any solution. It is really upsetting. Please fix it Garmin.
