Downloaded gpx file does not keep the same name in connect since august 2024

All garmin users of our bicycleclub in Flanders (Belgium) have the same issue. If we download the gpx file, the original name is not save to connect. So we have to change the name in garmin to see what ride this is.

That issue is new since version 5.4! Before, it worked with the gpx filename as the route name. That's annoying!

I'd recommend creating the course in Garmin Connect, or uploading it there only once, name it as needed, and then making it public and sending the link to your club members. I'd tell it is much simpler than pushing all of them downloading the course individually.

The same issue here when importing e.g. from Mapy.cz. I can clearly see the correct <name> tag inside a GPX file, but after import, there is just a generic name... The same file imported over Connect website loads the name just fine. It worked well one or two months ago.

We have the same issue as well. The android app just ignores the <name> tags
