Assign gears to activities

I use multiple bikes weekly. I would like to assign bikes to an activity not just set a default one to cycle profile.

Today we only can add one gear to one activity, even tho there are more than a dozen of cycling activities.

Please implement this. It's so annoying having to, even tho it's fun; to remembering to add gears manually after activities.

Also while at it, maybe it would be brilliant idea to add a distance track for the current year.

As mentioned here 5 years ago...https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/sports-fitness/f/edge-520-520-plus/249864/feature-request-allow-you-to-assign-a-default-bike-gear-to-different-activities

  • I think the best is to Share Ideas

Garmin do not monitor all forums and encourage users to report such ideas thru that link above.

And that is not only related to bicycles. The same is for running shoes, or other gears like skies.

  • People want this since many years, probably wont happen. It's more likely they will remove that feature completely as they removed a highly customizable dashboard a few months ago.

  • I have exactly same problem. This function as it is, is very stupid. We have many cycling activities types, but can assign gear only to all of them?! Sorry, but this is very sad, what Garmin´s programmers did. The whole Garmin connect is a joke, many bugs everywhere. I don´t have energy to post it again and again. First buy of Garmin product was my biggest fault, now it´s harder to move to another brand.

  • I agree, if Strava can do this fine (using data from my Garmin device)  why cant Garmin. I mountain bike and road bike and have defaults for each set automatically in Strava, not probs, but why do i still have to change this manually in Garmin every time, as it only allows one default bicycle for all cycling.

Come one Garmin surely you can do better this should be simple enough to update!!!

  • The Garmin Connect implementation is indeed worthless.

I use the combo "Strava / ActivityFix / ProBikeGarage" to track all my bikes and components. Works perfectly.
