The change has an effect only on activities done after the change. Past activities continue to use the HR Zone valid at the moment they were done.
Also, keep on mind that there are up to four different HR Zone tables (general / running / cycling / swimming), so be sure you edited the one(s) corresponding to the sport(s) you do.
I keep changing my HR zones on Garmin connect to what it should be, but a day or 2 later it automatically changed back to incorrect zones. What can i do to so the zones don't change itself. Annelize

Make sure they are not based on Max HR, or on HR Reserve and in the same time having enabled the auto-detection of Max HR. The same goes for the LTHR base, and the LTHR auto-detection.
I have a Forerunner 965 and I changed the HR zones by choosing based on BPM and entered default zones from my recent vo2 max test. The forerunner zones are correct but on GC the zones never changed for any run done after I made this change.(multiple). Will turning off auto detection of maxhr LTH etc make the inconsistency go away? thanks
If the HR Zones are based on BPM, and not on LTHR, then LTHR has no impact on the zones. Double check, that the Sports HR Zones » Running HR Zone table is really set correctly, and not only the general HRZ table!
Ran today after making the Sports HRZ consistent with the HRZ numbers and it worked. Thanks!
