Activity map

The map on an activity overview no longer seems to work correctly. Seems to be constantly scaling (zoom in/out).

When calling the complete map, this is still working.

  • I found that if I clicked on the faulty flickering map, it opens it a new tab but its complete. Not as useful as the original, but OK for a temporary fix until Garmin provide a new version

  • Unfortunately this issue is still happening in version 5.4 (Aug 12)

  • Yes, got an update of the GC app today.... bug still there

  • Garmin Support have asked me to take screen video and Connect App logs.

I'll need to download video app to get a video illustrating error, they've given me code to send app logs. Hoping to get this done over weekend. Not exactly swift progress.

  • After a delay I got a reply from Garmin Support saying they have created a support case .

    The 2 references I have are Ref:27881573K1 and Q#:1013504

Not sure what these are and what they are for, but at least they have recognised the issue.

I have also replicated same issue with a different activity type (in the second case a walk), so it looks like its ANY activity type, and reminded them that it has been reported on several versions of Android.

Case created officially 22/8/24 - quite a while after first post , but one hopes that it will now result in some action .

    Question is - When ?

How about we all vote up this string - maybe it will click an alarm somewhere in Garmin

  • I also have this problem and contacted Garmin already. I also send images and App logs and made a video. It is under investigation now. The App update and re-instal doesn't helped. Hope the best.

  • I noticed after an updated to version 5.5 (Sep 13) issues still exists, activity map stretched / flickering

  • I've just done upgraded to 5.5 as well and, like you , still have problem.

No update from Garmin on the support ticket .

  • Same for me, app update to 5.5 and still the same problem. Also since more than 2 weeks no response concerning my support ticket. By the way, my phone is a Motorola Edge 40 with Android 14. On my Xiaomi Mi10 based an Android 13, I do not have this problem. Would be interesting if the phone model or the android version might be a problem.

Possibly. My phone is an old Samsung Galaxy S9+, running android 10 and Garmin Connect version 5.5. I cannot duplicate this issue. Everything seems fine. However, I tested on my Samsung Galaxy S9 tablet, running android version 14 and I have the issue you're reporting in this thread.

Also reported to Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com.
