Glucose

Is there a reason that Garmin hasn't added a manual glucose monitoring field similar to the of the BP?  Seems like such a simple addition for something that is health centric and widespread throughout our society...I know you're prob trying to get us to get the Dexcom but I and many others can't or just aren't going to do that.  Is there a Garmin Rep that can give a solid reason why this feature doesn't exist?  Just bought a Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire yesterday and I'm a bit disappointed overall with Garmins resistance to operate accross platforms and this little thing seems like such a small snub.  Have I bought an Apple product?  Am I going to be fleeced for every feature?  I mean damn my Fitbit was $150 this was $1k...what more am I getting if I have to pay for every feature?  At least Fitbit had a glucose monitoring field.  It's just a simple log.

Yes there is. Garmin does not sell any device measuring glucose. Garmin Connect is not a general Health app. It is an interface for Garmin devices. There are plenty of other apps that can do that for you.

However, if you really want to keep the data in Garmin Connect, there are couple of options - you can use calendar notes, you can create a custom activity, naming it for example "Glucose", and enter the value there. And you can use a Connect IQ app - especially if you already own a device for measuring the glucose, there are some CIQ apps for some of those devices.

  • you say that it's not a general health app yet I can monitor most aspects of my general health with a device that attaches to organizes the data from the device by displaying my O2, HR, Sleep, Stress, BLOOD PRESSURE, any many other general health related items...  again why not add in a manual log for glucose that is almost exactly the same as the blood pressure log?  Most trackers have this capabiltiy.  My Fitbit did.  I take my glucose then type it in my fitbith app.  My wife's Samsung does, not trying to be confronational but nothing in your post explains why Garmin can't add that log in to Garmin connect....I've seen many posts on this forum asking about it and it's absence almost seems financially purposeful i.e. Dexcom tracker in the Connect IQ....I dont' want to use Dexcom I just want to log it myself...I guess I'm SOL but thank you for your reply any way I'm marching through sand up hill I'm afraid... Either they'll get it or not.  Thx

  • O2, HR, Sleep, Stress, BLOOD PRESSURE, any many other general health related items...

Those are all values that a Garmin device can deliver (including the blood pressure). There is (currently) no Garmin device for measuring glucose. And personally I prefer that Garmin stays focused on supporting their own products, and improving the functionality related to their devices, and not wasting their rare developer resources on trying to become a competitor of Apple Health or Google Fit.

I just want to log it myself...I

As I wrote, you have some options for that even in Garmin Connect, but personally I would rather use a dedicated app made specially for that purpose.
