40K steps badge not awarded

I walked 40K steps in one day. Not all of the steps are in an activity but I took a screenshot right when I got the steps but when midnight turned over my steps decreased. 

I had my 20K and 30K way before trying for this badge.

How do I get my badge?

    If the value wasn't synced to Garmin Connect you will not get the badge. On the Home page you see the unsynced value. When you click the steps card you will see what really is synced to Garmin Connect. I'm not sure what the dashed line represents, but my guess is that it is an extrapolated value. Always click the steps card and make sure the value is synced if the exact value is important to you.

    It doesn't matter if the steps are in an actviity or not. Those badges just use the synced steps value.
