Aquafitess

Hi everyone!

I would love to suggest that you add aquafitness to the Activities list. Right now, the ooptions are swimming, aaerobics or walking and none of them are accurate for such an activity.

This is a very popular form of fitness and I'm surprised it isn't already an option.

Thank you so much in advance!

Shannon

  • Use the "Cardio" activity. It is available on most watch models. I do not think you need anything else than that for activities like aqua-fitness.

  • Unfortunately, cardio is not an accurate read. Being in the water means your body is working harder to regulate temperature, you're pushing against water constantly, and you're also working to maintain balance against the currents you & others are generating.

Your body is doing more than it would be during a regular cardio workout. It really needs its own category. Just like the app has the option to distinguish between indoor & outdoor running in the selections when creating your own activity.

  • It does not matter which type of activity you select. The watch measures the effort by the heart rate. If you work harder, the HR is higher, and the HR Variability lower. The watch also measures your respiratory rate with the help of the HR sensor. That's all what the watch needs to measure the effort, the Calories, and all other metric. The name of the activity profile is absolutely unimportant.
