Is there a way to get sleep mode to record data when my phone has airplane mode on? For VENU 2+

Is there a way to get sleep mode to work when my phone has airplane mode on? It still records my stress, heart rate, respiration and pulse ox when in airplane mode but has no data for sleep mode. VENU 2+

I'd like to manage the radiation while still using my phone as an alarm clock.

Any suggestions/help appreciated and welcome. Thank you in advance.

  • I am not aware of an "airplane mode" on Garmin watches, and the manual for Venu 2 does not mention any either. Do you perhaps mean the Battery Saver mode? If so, then you have to edit the Battery Saver settings, and exclude the HR sensor from being turned off, when the Battery Saver kicks on. Without the HR sensor you cannot record any sleep data.

Thanks for your answer, but that wasn't my question. lol Stuck out tongue

I asked if there is a way to get my Garmin Venu 2+ watch to record sleep data while my phone has airplane mode on.

I don't want the radiation from my phone going through my head so I thought if could get my watch to record sleep data while airplane mode is turned on in my phone setting I would be in the clear. But for some reason it records respiration, pulse ox, stress and heart rate while airplane mode is on but not sleep data.

The watch does not need the phone for recording sleep data. You only need to sync the data from the watch to Garmin Connect once recorded, and you can do it with the USB cable, if you do not wish to use the phone.

There is nothing to sync. Like I said my watch doesnt record sleep data when my phone is in airplane mode. Which is what I'm asking for help with. Whether its supposed to or not, it doesnt.

It is not related. Phone's airplane mode has no relation to the sleep recording. Some troubleshooting tips for missing sleep data are available here: My Sleep Statistics Are Not Displaying in Garmin Connect | Garmin Customer Support

  • ... you can also try disabling the "Phone" option on the watch, turning off the Bluetooth on the watch too, in this way. It may help preventing that the watch continuously attempts to connect to the phone, increasing so the battery drain, and possibly crashing, and losing the sleep data. Or you can edit the Battery Saver mode so that HR + PulseOx sensor stay on, turning off BT only, and enabling Battery Saver during sleep.
