Graphs in Garmin Connect are not in Sync

Hi all

Since yesterday I see a strange behavior in the Garmin connect app.

The graph on the start page for e.g. steps are in sync with my watch (S62). So the watch is connected and is synced with my phone. Only the graph below the step counter isn't updating.

When I click.on the graph and get the detail view (where I can see also the last week, month etc), the data is not updated at all. Only when I sync my watch with my PC, the data on these graphs are updated as well. But after disconnecting the watch from my PC and let my smartphone do the sync job, only the data on the main screen is updated.

I can reproduce this with steps, heart rate, body battery, stress.

How can I solve this issue?  Or does anyone already had the same issue?

Thxs in advance!

  • is the data still different after manual synchronization?
They are the same for me.

Edit : Sorry, I saw too late that I'm in the Android forum. I am using IOS.

  • Yes, the data on the second screen is still different when I trigger the manual.sync.

On the main screen, I can also see my heart rate updating every x seconds, but when I go to the details views, no updates are visible

  • Sorry, I'm in the wrong forum. I'm using IOS. Not Android.
But in general, the HR data in the graph gives fewer data points. I may be wrong, but I think the graph reflects an  -average? -every 2 mins.

  • Would be ok for me, if the graphs are updated only 2 or 5 minutes, but here are the same screens, one hour later:

  • I'm sorry, it works for me with IOS. I can't say whether there is a general problem with the Android app.

  • Don't worry, maybe another android user can proof or not proof, that this is an.android issues or something with my setup

  • There two types of data (each of them using different transmission protocols) - real-time data (instantaneous HR, Steps, IMs, Calories, Floors), and then the data that has to be synced to the server. Real-time data is being transmitted to the app continuously, and can be seen on the "In Focus" and "At a Glance" panels as they change. However, the detailed screens, and the graphs are fed by the data already synced to the server. So if you see old data on the graphs, or on the detailed pages, it means the sync to the server failed for some reason.

When you sync manually, you should see the circle around the watch icon closing, turning green, and showing a check sign. If it is not the case, then there is some problem with the syncing. You can check the Device Sync Audit (at the bottom of the Settings menu) to get some clues. You can also have a look at some tips in the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide.

  • Hi trux,

thxs for the detailed answer. I can see the green circle with the check sign. Does this mean, the sync is working but there are some other issues with the app?

I also checked the audit log, there are no errors shown.

  • Ok,  I found a solution within the links provided by Trux. It looks that it was a corrupt FIT file.

After deleting all files within the Garmin/activity folder, the sync works again.
