25hr missing Heart Rate + other health metric data missing from Connect but is showing in watch (Epix Pro Gen2)

I have recently purchased an Epix Pro Gen2 and have been getting to grips with it. Everything has generally been OK, but today I noticed that I have a 25hr gap in my Heart Rate and other health metric data (sleep, body battery etc.) in the Garmin Connect app + online.

All of the data for this period is showing OK on the watch, but repeated sync attempts over wifi + connected to the PC using Garmin Express have not fixed the gap. I have looked for the .fit files covering this period on the watch and can't see them in the \garmin\activities folder.

Here are the charts in Garmin Connect for the days in question:

Maybe a coincidence, but the data cuts out pretty much the same time as I did a Health Snapshot on the morning of 2nd June.

I have checked in the Garmin Connect Device Sync audit and there are a bunch of Upload Errors around that time e.g. FIT_TYPE_35/110B 'Server is not able to process the uploaded file' and 'file is skipped. Code=204 (Empty Content)

Is it possible that the Garmin Connect Android app has failed to sync/send the files correctly but has then deleted them anyway on the watch? If so, how is the watch itself showing data for the period?

Anyone else had similar issues recently? Hopefully this is a one-off, but any suggestions how to fix this gap or prevent similar issues in future would be welcome.

Thanks!

  • I have the Garmin Forerunner and my resting heart rate, body battery, stress not showing even on my watch since app update this weekend. No feedback yet from Garmin either.

  • If it does not appear on the watch, the app is not the culprit. More likely your HR sensor is disabled, Possibly due to the Battery Saver kicking in. Double check it. Restart your watch. If it does not help hard-reset the watch - sync, then press the Light button for some 30s till it completely shuts down (hold the button through the emergency alert, if it comes), wait little bit, and then restart. No worry, no data or settings will be lost with it. [more details].
