The step averages shown in the app cannot be correct - for example my app currently shows steps in last 7 days 62, 714, average daily 10, 004, steps in the last year 3, 047, 522, daily average 9, 151. Surely this should be a simple calculation? I'm fairly sure they were ok before the latest release.
