No trace available, other datas are well available

Hello,

I did use twice my forerunner 935 yesterday. My activities where recorded and synchronyzed on garmin connect but the trace (map) is not available. All other datas are well available (cadence, pace, heart rate,... ). Just no map.

No problem with my fenix 7. ( my primary device)

Very odd.  Should I remove my fenix7 from garmin connect ??

Any tips welcomed. Thanks.

  • Hello,

According to the article "Why Do I Not See a Map..." I checked the activity name coming from my FR935

And in the activity name there is indeed no location any more, so the activity was recorded without GPS.

(for info the GPS was ready on my FR935 when I started the activies)

But then how does it come that in garmin connect the distance was well recorded.

Could it be a problem with the new garmin connect ?? Or is this a problem with my FR935 ?

    Any tips welcomed.

  • Thanks.

There is indeed no location in the activity file.

So, according to the link above, I think the activity was recorded without GPS.

But the GPS was ready when I started the activity. And the distance of my run is available. Just the map is missing.

The soft version of the FR935 is 21.00

Is the problem with my FR935 or with "garmin connect" ?

    Any tips welcomed.

  • For info I just downloaded the last "garmin connect" update a few minutes ago on my smartphone.

And I started again an activity (walk) from my FR935.

Still the same, the map is missing.

And when I look at the page given by the LiveTrack link I see that no positional datas have been sent. So no map.

Still don't see where the problem is.

  • I doubt the issue is with Garmin Connect.

Next step, at the very least, connect your watch to a computer and delete both the \GARMIN\Activity and the \GARMIN\RemoteSW folders. The folders will regenerate after unplugging the watch. Then test with doing an outdoor GPS activity, but let the watch do a "GPS soak," which means leaving the watch outside for several minutes even after the "GPS ready" notice.

If still no joy, do a full factory reset of the watch. Again, follow that with syncing with Garmin Express. Do the "GPS Soak" then test with an outdoor GPS activity.

  • Many thanks. You solved the problem.

I first deleted the directory ACTIVITY and after that had another try. But no luck. Problem was still present.

I then did a RESET and started an activity. Success !! The map with the trace is now available in the activity report in "Garmin Connect".

    Livetracking is ok too.

    Thanks.
